Homeowners and apartment dwellers are usually quick to notice which windows and doors leak. Doors are relatively easy to weatherstrip. Windows may be more complex, but also worth weatherstripping. Most windows with storms or dual glazing are not worth replacing strictly for energy efficiency reasons. Single pane windows in good condition may greatly benefit from the addition of low E storm windows. Windows needing substantial repair or with lead paint are candidates for new dual glazed low E Energy Star qualifying windows.
