Exploring the Nature of Long-Term Commitment to Sustainability: A Research Study

Tiffany Simons, a doctoral student at Northwestern University, is conducting a research study examining the nature of long-term commitment to environmental sustainability issues. The study is concerned with trying to understand what leads people to care about sustainability issues, and the factors that support an ongoing engagement with those issues over time.

If you are over the age of 25 and either hold a leadership position in an organization related to environmental sustainability or have been an active member in such an organization for at least three years, you may be eligible for the study. Participation consists of an individual interview and a survey, for a total time commitment of between two and two-and-a-half hours.

Upon completion, participants will receive an honorarium of $50. This research project is approved by Northwestern University’s Institutional Review Board. All of the information obtained in the study will be anonymous and confidential, and participants are free to withdraw from the study at any time.
