Gapers Block reports an expansion of the pilot Blue Cart recycling pilot into seven wards over the next year. The program involves blue garbage carts to sit in the alley next to standard black ones. Recycleables go in the blue one, all mixed together, no need to wash or bag them. The blue carts are picked up bi-weekly. Yard waste is to be placed in bags next to the black carts for pickup and composting.
