Fresh Picks: Local Organic Delivery

Posted on Sunday 8 October 2006

The Chicago Tribune did a nice story last week on Shelly Herman (no relation) and Irv Cernauskas, owners of FreshPicks, local organic delivery.

They live in the city and have connected with a number of local farmers. They deliver $15, $25 and $40 boxes of fresh, organic, in-season produce weekly or every other week, to many Chicago zip codes. They allow custom orders for meats, cheeses and some things like organic avocados and oranges that aren’t grown locally.

Visit their site to meet their farmers and learn more about how they can help you eat well all year round. What else you gonna do when the Farmers’ Markets go into hibernation?
